Course Content:-

Dr Richard Allen Designated Doctor for Safeguarding Children (Norfolk) and Lucy Parsons Head of Safeguarding Children for East of England Community Health & Care NHS Trust will be jointly delivering this training on bruising and birthmarks in infants.

The training will cover:

  • Bruises and injuries in non- mobile and mobile infants
  • Areas where injuries are more likely to be abusive
  • Recognition of common congenital/neonatal skin lesions (non-abusive)
  • Differential diagnoses
  • Recognition of indicators of harmful skin presentations
  • Child protection evidence
  • Norfolk policy
  • Case scenarios
