Course Content

Intro to Contraception – a whole day’s course for new Practice Nurses/Assistant Practitioners/Physicians associate who are new to Contraception and would like to have an overview of all of the methods of contraception to help patients decide what’s best for them and the checks are required in general practice.

The day will cover how to undertake an effective contraceptive consultation; what tools are available to help you; using UKMEC; an overview of all the methods of contraception (CHC, POP, Injectables, IUC, Implants, Barriers, FAM, sterilization); case studies and Q+A.

For all of these sessions pre-registered participants will be emailed pre course materials and in particular for the Intro to Contraception Study Day it would be a good idea to print off some of the handouts prior to attending as this will help you gain more from your day.
