Additional Information
We can train one Champion per practice only.

This training is appropriate for any member of staff who has an interest in the health and wellbeing of their colleagues. It is open to all staff, both clinical and non-clinical.

  • Fully funded
  • 2 x half day online live training
  • One space per Practice

The aim of this training is to educate and empower the Champions so that they can become a safe, confidential, and trusted person for staff members to go to for signposting to health and wellbeing resources and support. They will learn how to coach rather than rescue their colleagues and how to access counselling, career coaching, support services and tools. They will learn about how to support with aspects of wellbeing including financial health, physical health, mental health, social issues etc. The aim is for them to be rather like a Social Prescriber but for staff.

The Champion role will be voluntary. The level of support / amount of time taken in the role is likely to be sporadic and responsive support, not a certain fixed number of hours each week. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a genuine passion for wanting to help and support their colleagues and learn more about health and wellbeing. It is also great for their CV, career development and confidence.

For your practice, having a Workforce Health & Wellbeing Champion in post is great for:

  • increasing wellbeing in the whole team
  • having someone other than management able to responsibly signpost staff to wellbeing resources
  • CQC Evidence (leadership / caring)
  • recruitment & retention of staff
  • reducing sickness rates
  • empowering staff with an interest in wellbeing

We can train one Champion per practice.
