The training covers the fundamentals of how to perform the test to the quality assured standards as guided by the Association of Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP), including how to document results.
Following the training it is preferable that the student has a mentor, either ARTP accredited or has recently attended a spirometry update to work through the competency pack supplied with the training.
