Non-Medical Prescribing Update - Prescribing Antibiotics

Course Content:-

The course aim is to update participants in a variety of infections and their treatments.

This course will explore:

• Influences of antibiotic prescribing, pharmacology.
• Evidence base.
• Resistance issues, infection control.
• Competency in clinical assessment skills.

Participants will benefit from having a BNF to hand during the session.

By the end of the session participants will have an increased understanding of:

• Pathogenicity.
• The chain of infection.
• Antimicrobial difficile.
• Resistance.
• Antibiotic use.
