Course Content:-

This Level 3 joint Adult and Child Safeguarding training is designed to provide primary care professionals with an update on the current safeguarding landscape across the lifespan in Norfolk and Suffolk.

The session will run for three hours, with a short break scheduled midway. The content aligns with RCGP requirements for an annual safeguarding update and will cover the following key areas: RCGP safeguarding standards for general practice

  1. Professional safeguarding responsibilities
  2. Identification of abuse and neglect
  3. Documenting safeguarding concerns and information
  4. Information sharing and multi-agency learning

To support full participation, please ensure you join the session with a working camera and microphone. The session will include interactive group exercises, and there will be opportunities to bring forward cases for discussion, reflection, and questions. Resources and a certificate of attendance will be provided following the training.

We encourage a supportive and open learning environment—please feel free to contribute at any time, including asking questions throughout the session. We will also remain on the call at the end for anyone who would like to further discuss or reflect on topics raised. If needed, you are also welcome to contact us via email after the session.

PLEASE NOTE: This session is not compulsory and can be used as your Annual Safeguarding update. GPs can meet their RCGP requirements for an annual safeguarding update (Level 3) through a combination of structured learning, reflection, and evidence of ongoing competence. The key is that the update is regular, relevant, and demonstrable in appraisal/revalidation.
