This interactive half-day online session is for registered staff such as Nurses, Pharmacists or Paramedics who are already engaged in delivering vaccines.
It is assumed that all delegates have completed basic immunisation training and are competent in vaccine delivery via injections. Those unfamiliar with administering vaccines via the nasal route will be able to access training including use of demonstrators.
This interactive course follows recommendations found in the ‘National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Vaccination Training’ document (UKHSA June 2025) Delegates will discuss and consider current issues in immunisation; new or emerging diseases and development of new vaccines; changes to existing vaccine programmes including seasonal updates; a refresher regarding storage to help prevent vaccine wastage; changes to vaccine legislation and addressing “vaccine hesitancy”.
There will be time allowed for shared discussion of clinical incidents relating to vaccines and reflections on best practice with question and answer sessions as required.
