This interactive online session has been developed following recommendations found in the document ‘National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Vaccination Training’ (UKHSA June 2025)
It is assumed that delegates attending this update have completed basic immunisation training and are competent in vaccine delivery via intra-muscular injections.
Those unfamiliar with administering vaccines via the nasal route will be able to access training including use of demonstrators.
Course content covers: current issues in immunisation; new vaccines added to the routine schedule for elderly or high risk groups; changes to existing vaccine programmes including seasonal updates; a refresher regarding storage to help prevent vaccine wastage; changes to vaccine legislation and addressing “vaccine hesitancy”.
Delegates will be referred to e-learning for healthcare modules and the UKHSA Competency tool to provide evidence of their ongoing and updated skills.
