This is open to all primary care healthcare professionals who review patients presenting with infections and would assess if they require treatment with antibiotics.

Course Content:-

This session is for all primary care healthcare professionals who will review patients with infections. During the sign in and networking, there will be lunch provided.

The training is part of the TARGET training that is hosted by RCGP learning and can be used to support CPD and revalidation requirements.

The session will cover:

  • The consequences of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
  • The TARGET toolkit – “Treat Antibiotics Responsibly, Guidance, Education, Tools.
  • What you and your practice can do to help tackle AMR safely and responsibly.
  • Treatment of Urinary Tract Infections.
  • Treatment of Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, and optimising treatment duration.
  • The value of using appropriate SNOMED/Read codes.
